Canton Community Gardens were approached to develop a permaculture community garden outside the main entrance of Chapter Arts Centre. The key concept for the garden is that all planting must be both attractive and edible; this will allow the garden to become more than just a green space as it will also be a focal point for educational projects regarding food as it is ideally situated near several local primary schools.

Gillard Associates have been advising the group informally via placement student Luke Davies' who is a member of the community group and are now formally taking over the tendering and project management of the garden.
