Six Affordable Dwellings

This proposed group of six affordable dwellings in Powys recently granted planning permission is to be used as a test project by a Welsh housing association to ascertain if they will switch from timber frame construction to SIPS on future projects.

Gillard Associates have used their experience with SIPS systems to advise the housing association to consider its use. Tenders will be prepared to allow the comparison of both construction systems. The additional benefits of SIPS including improved air-tightness, durability and speed of erection will also be considered.
