How we eat, how we cook and how we grow our food are big issues in terms of health, sustainability, ethics and household budgets. Many experts are very worried about the rise of unsustainable agriculture, food waste and poor diets. A loss of cooking skills and knowledge of food origins has been identified as both a cause of these problems and a potential hurdle to tackling them.
Fairyland Community Allotment is a community project designed to educate locals about food in a positive social atmosphere rather than berating or "nannying" tactics that forget good food is supposed to be enjoyed. By being simple, elegant and efficient our design manages to meet the modest budget of this project.
