Tai Chi Practice Centre
The Taoist Tai Chi Society of Great Britain purchased an old Edwardian telephone exchange building in Newport. The building is perfectly suited for recycling: its two giant switchgear halls are ideal for large practice sessions. With a tight budget, we have designed a clean and uncluttered interior and developed a masterplan for continued development when funds permit. Emphasis has been placed on conservation of energy and water and rainwater harvesting.
The Centre was officially opened in July 08 with a lively ceremony and banquet, free for the whole community. It is now in full use and feedback has been very positive.
