Thorncliffe School
This is a typical modern comprehensive school which needed upgrading of science laboratories, staff facilities, and reception. The solution was to build three separate extensions to suit the existing suiting arrangements. The resulting reorganisation of the school meant that each mini project had to be constructed in turn, a major headache for contract management but necessary to ensure the smooth running of the school during building works. The emphasis was on economy of material and form, to ensure maximum value for money.
